Adjacent projects Update June 2026

Colin Davis's latest update brings news on several local projects. Milton Gate will see refurbishment and a two-storey extension starting in 2027. Tenter House is moving forward with a new structural system and architects, including landscaping improvements near City Point Plaza. The Barbican renewal is finally starting, and Moor Lane is progressing as a Corporation-managed garden space with consultation planned. However, e-bike pavement obstructions continue despite recent confiscations, and 1 Silk Street's revised plans—leaving the Heron-adjacent eastern edge unchanged—prompted further resident objections. However the project was given planning permission (subject to a possible judicial review) on 28 May.

The developers, Lipton Rogers held a consultation meeting for local residents on 16 June 2026.

The building in now unoccupied and works, that do not require planning permission, have begun on the removal of internal, nonstructural surfaces. This will continue until early 2027.

Regarding the reduction of disturbance, we were told at the meeting that the current work involves six skip lorries a day to and from the site, three at each end of the site. Vehicles will not arrive before 8.00am. Loading will take place within the building, not on the pubic street. All personnel arrive by public transport so do not need parking spaces.

Working hours will strictly comply with City of London requirements: Monday to Friday 8.00 - 18.00, Saturday 9.00 - 14.00.

Any complaints should be directed to the contractors, the Erith Group, Project Manager Edward Hier, 07542 622938, Edward.Hier@erith.com. Company background information: Erith.com. The out of hours security contact is Terry Williams, 07889 667978.
